Ok, slightly long post coming up, but I also have lots of pictures for you guys.
I’ll start with my diet; this is what I’m eating daily with a couple of grams more or less day to day due to measurements:
I use MyFitnessPal Premium to track everything. I used the calculator at https://tdeecalculator.net to figure out my calories daily, and then I try to keep net carbs (the reason I pay for premium) at around 20% for the day. My protein is still probably low for my size, but I get so full from all the food that at times, I almost feel like I’m overeating (I’m not, except last night for Super Bowl, but that’ll come later). I like monotony and not having to think about my meals, so I legitimately eat the same main meals daily and only play with my snacks/deserts within reason. Next up exercise. I’m making the images a slideshow since I’m sharing all of it for this first post, and there was a lot since I started.
I like to be left alone at the gym, as evidenced by the image at the top of the post. As you can see, I do 10 minutes of cardio warmup and weights for about 45 minutes three times per week, then I do 30-60 minutes of cardio the other three days, and I usually take one day off currently. The weight regimen came from a trainer friend of mine, taking into account what my goal is, weight loss. So now that I have those two pieces going, let’s look at the results so far. As I said last week, I started at 324, and in week 1, I was already down 9.6 pounds last Monday. Today, after Super Bowl, I weighed in at 314, meaning I lost .4 pounds, but that’s obviously not a real weigh-in, yesterday I was 312.6, and then this happened to my dinner…
As you can see, my carbs were out of control last night. I enjoyed myself and didn’t feel sick, but I definitely regret it. That being said, I’m not going to starve myself like in the past; I’m just going to go back to what I was doing, and I’m sure the weight will come right off. The big thing I’m learning is that it’s ok to enjoy food, but you have to do it in moderation. Before starting this, I also was very heavy-handed with sauces. I really didn’t eat that much more; I just sauced a lot more, and damn, those sauces are calorie-dense. I’m going to share a list of food items I have in here plus the scales I use so you can buy them if you’re interested; just know that if you use the link, I may get paid. I did the straight calorie counting, minus macros, years ago when I got down to the 198 mark, so I know this works for me. I’ve also left myself room for shaving calories over time if need be. Next Monday, I’ll talk more about my logic behind my food choices so you can get into my brain a bit more.
As a reward for staying till the end, here is what I’m watching right now. My wife and I have been rewatching Smallville on Hulu. I’ve loved Superman since I was a kid. The idea of hope and looking for the best in people always stuck with me. As an adult, they resonate even more.
